Beyond What Drifts Us Apart is an interdisciplinary site-specific project, developed and curated by Elyse Tonna, the Project is a collaboration between Unfinished Art Space and the Istanbul-based association Diyalog DerneÄŸi, organisers of the Mahalla Festival, an international art event and platform for the Malta-based project.
Beyond What Drifts Us Apart includes a site-specific artistic interventions, artists residencies and community-oriented activities. Six artists were selected by Elyse to react to a curatorial framework and create dialogue regarding the post-anthropocene, speculative futures, ecological thinking, endangered landscapes, and non-human communities.
Production Assistance
The7labs.io, with its founder Luis Alberto Sanchez, hosted multiple talks related to curatorial production, content creation, and promotion during a two-weekend festival successfully delivered in the vicinity of the Qalet Marku Tower in Baħar ic-Cagħaq
Beyond What Drifts Us Apart is a project of the residency programs of the MagiC Carpets Platform, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program. The MagiC Carpets Platform brings together 21 European cultural organisations, coordinated by Kaunas Biennial in Lithuania, offering opportunities for emerging artists and curators to explore artistic practices on an international level and to create - together with local communities - new works that bring to light regional particularities and traditions.
